In these books, four best friends started a small babysitting business. Clients would call in and request a babysitter for a particular time and the girls would work out a schedule so that they all had jobs each week. It turned out to be a great business because the families trusted these girls and one was always available when someone needed a babysitter. It worked much better this way for everyone because parents knew that they only had to make one phone call, instead of several, in order to book a babysitter for the evening. It was a great system overall!

Are you eager to follow in the Babysitter's Club footsteps? It is easy to start a babysitter service of your own to help parents find a babysitter fast! By doing so, you will have much more success finding families who need a babysitter because you make it easy for them. All you need is a few friends who are as excited about babysitting as you are, a book of contacts, and the willingness to work hard!

First, gather your friends who are babysitting already or who are ready to start babysitting. You do not want too many people to begin with because you need to make sure that you have enough jobs for everyone in the business. Once you begin to get more calls then you can handle, then I recommend taking on a few more enthusiastic sitters!

Once you have a small, but dedicated, group I recommend taking babysitter classes all together so that you can promote yourselves as trained babysitters. You can find these courses at your local community center or online. Once you are ready to go out into the wide world of babysitting, it is time to advertise your babysitter services!  Talk to all the parents you know and print up fliers with your businesses information on it, listing your skills and phone number. Before you know it, you will have a babysitter service that everyone loves and uses!
